Jimenez, former Dutch National Ballet principal dancer and ballet mistress at The Washington Ballet. Michele is celebrated for her exceptional artistry and technical brilliance, and we are honoured to have her teach a masterclass on 29 March for local dancers and ballet enthusiasts. As a Frida répétiteur, she was invited to Hong Kong to coach Hong Kong Ballet dancers for the ballet’s exciting Asian premiere. This is a rare and special opportunity to learn firsthand from a world-class expert at the pinnacle of her career!
About Michele Jimenez
Michele Jimenez was born in Las Vegas, Nevada USA and grew up in the Dominican Republic, where she was introduced to classical ballet at age six. She trained at The Washington School of Ballet and later became an apprentice at The Washington Ballet in 1999 under Septime Webre. The following year, Jimenez was promoted to company dancer and worked with Webre in many of his original works and with guest choreographer Trey McIntyre on his many residencies. She later joined McIntyre’s touring troupe, The Trey McIntyre Project.
In 2006 Jimenez joined Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam where she became a Soloist in 2008 and a Principal Dancer the following year. After retiring in 2013, she became Ballet Master for The Washington Ballet and then a guest Ballet Master for Het Nationale Ballet In 2019, working with both companies as well as teaching at the Dutch National Ballet Academy. Jimenez currently serves as repetiteur for the works of Septime Webre, Trey McIntyre and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. She is a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher , a Progressing Ballet Technique teacher and a certified Polestar Pilates instructor. In 2025 she will join Het Nationale Ballet as a full-time ballet master.
