On Friday 19th December 2014, the opening night of The Nutcracker, The Hong Kong Ballet hosted an enjoyable and informative pre-performance talk at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The Company’s Director of Artistic Planning & Touring, Mr. Joseph Morrissey, and Education & Community Outreach Department Manager, Ms. Vency Kwok, conducted a 20-minute pre-performance talk in which they introduced the production of The Nutcracker, talking about its historic background, music, storyline and the characters. Esteemed guests, Mr. Terence Kohler, choreographer; Mr. Antonino Sutera, guest artist - Principal Dancer from Teatro alla Scala; and Ms. Mary Griffiths, the founder of The Hong Kong Ballet, also participated in the talk and shared their valuable experiences. The talk was attended by almost 100 members of the audience whom then watched The Nutcracker with a deeper insight into the performance.
