Dancer Q&A

1. Why do you dance?
I dance because I love ballet. I love to perform to the audience with my dancing. I think I love expressing my feelings to audiences, and it’s just ballet which I have chosen.

2. Why did you start dancing?
I started ballet, because my sister was dancing, and I watched her when I was little.

3. What was the first ballet you ever performed?
It was at my old ballet studio in Japan when I was ten years old and choreographed by my ballet teacher. I don't remember my first performance, but the last time when I went back home, I watched the performance. I was shy on stage because of nervousness. One thing I was happy about was that I didn't fall on stage.

4. What’s your favourite food?
I don't have a specific one, but I love Japanese food.

5. What’s your personal style?
I love formalwear, but I usually wear casual clothes.

6. What are your hobbies?
My favourite hobbies are cooking and reading books.

7. What is your favourite movie/book?
I love Howl's Moving Castle from Ghibli, and my favorite books are The Chronicles of Narnia. I read them in Japanese.

8. Where is the most interesting place you have ever visited or want to visit?
I have been to the Dominican Republic, and their sea was so beautiful. I want to visit there again.

9. What is the coolest thing about being a dancer?
The coolest thing about being a dancer…I think you can experience dancing in many countries. If I want to dance in Japan, I could stay, but I chose to dance in another country, and I feel very happy about that decision.

10. Who is your favorite dancer who has inspired you?
My favorite dancer is Friedemann Vogel and my former teacher.
