Born in Anhui, China, Li Yaze trained at Liaoning Ballet School and graduated from Beijing Dance Academy in 2024. The same year, he danced with Hong Kong Ballet in Stella Lou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet and became a Corps de Ballet member.
1. Why do you dance?
Because I enjoy the glamour on stage and can forget my worries temporarily.
2. What is the most challenging ballet you have danced and what made it so challenging?
All the works are challenging to me because I want to do better!
3. How do you unwind after a show?
The way to relax after the show is to drink and eat lots and lots of tasty food!
4. What place do you feel most yourself?
When I do things that I like, it is the best way for me to feel like my self.
5. If you could have one more talent, what would it be?
I hope it will be playing the piano because I like listening to light music.
6. What would you be if you were not a dancer?
If I wasn’t a dancer, I’d be a foodie or a photographer.
7. What are your hobbies?
My interest is landscape photography.
8. What is your favourite movie/book?
My favorite movie is ‘Secret’.
9. If you could have a super power, what would it be?
If I could have a super power, I would want the ability to go back in time.
10. Who is your favourite dancer who has inspired you?
Ivan Vasiliev is my favourite dancer. His The Flames of Paris dance left a very deep impression in my mind when I was a child!
