Born in Jilin, China, Wang Qingxin trained at the Ballet School of Liaoning Ballet of China and joined Hong Kong Ballet as a Corps de Ballet member in 2013. She became Coryphée in 2018, was named Soloist in 2020 and became Principal Dancer in 2023.
With HKB, Wang has danced the principal and featured roles of Gamzatti and Aiya in Vladimir Malakhov’s La Bayadere, Actress Dorziat in Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Coco Chanel:The Life of a Fashion Icon, Cinderella and Fairy Godmother in Septime Webre’s Cinderella, Odette/Odile in John Meehan’s Swan Lake, Spanish Doll and French Doll in Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, Stella Lou in Stella Lou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet, Lilac Fairy in Cynthia Harvey’s The Sleeping Beauty, Mercedes and Queen of the Dryads in Nina Ananiashvili’s Don Quixote, Gulnare and Odalesques in Anna-Marie Holmes’ Le Corsaire, Juliet’s Mother in Webre’s Romeo + Juliet, Queen of Hearts and Flamingos in Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland), Princess Tiger Lily in Webre’s Peter Pan and lead roles in George Balanchine’s Jewels. She also performed in Rudi van Dantzig’s Romeo and Juliet, Ronald Hynd's Coppélia, Pär Isberg’s Pinocchio, Webre’s The Nutcracker, Carmina Burana and The Great Gatsby, Natalie Weir’s Turandot, Webre’s Ballet Classics for Children: Cinderella, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Christopher Wheeldon’s Rush, Alexei Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux, Jorma Elo's Shape of Glow, Wayne McGregor’s Chroma, Trey McIntyre’s A Day in the Life and Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit.
Wang won gold medals at the 25th Varna International Ballet Competition in 2012 and the 4th Korea International Ballet competition in 2011.

When I was young, I was very interested in ballet.

I want to be perfect when I'm dancing in front of the audience.
