Hong Kong Ballet’s Company Manager reports directly to the Artistic Director, with significant interaction with the Executive Director and administrative departments. The Company Manager plays a vital role in the daily workings of the Company, which includes 50 international dancers, an Artistic Team of four and a full-time accompanist. In addition, the Company Manager liaises with physiotherapists, the Technical and Wardrobe teams, the Creative Media Studio team, and the Programming Team and serves as an important role in communicating with the Marketing and Development departments.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the dancers' overall affairs and coordinate the activities of the artistic office
- Work with technical team to manage daily operations in the rehearsal studios and performance venues
- Support rehearsals and performances by looking after creative collaborators, guest artists and extras during the company’s productions
- Assist in building the company calendar to monitor dancers’ working hours, leaves and holidays
- Look after health and wellness of dancers by coordinating with Company Wellness Counselor, Physiotherapists and clinical partners
- Work closely with Human Resources, Administration, and Finance Departments in relation to dancers’ monthly attendance, expenses claims, medical claims, employee compensation claims, tax issues, and visa applications
- Maintain Dancers’ Handbook and formulate policies surrounding dancers’ duties and responsibilities for the company
- Coordinate between artist team and all other departments for the company’s daily artistic operations, projects and initiatives
- Attend artistic staff meetings, dancer representative meetings, maintaining artistic team files, forms and records
- Perform any other duties of the company and ad hoc projects as assigned by Artistic Director or his/her delegate(s)
Requirements
- University degree holder with minimum of 7 years of working experience, in arts administration or related areas
- Excellent command in both written and spoken English and Chinese; fluent in Mandarin
- Mature, detail-orientated, able to work under pressure and multi-task
- Proficiency in computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese Word Processing
- Flexible working hours, work on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays may be required
- Overseas travel may occasionally be necessary
- Knowledge in ballet, dance or performing arts is an advantage but not a must
