[Hong Kong—13 October 2021] On 7 October 2021, Hong Kong Ballet (HKB)’s popular online channel HKBALLET@HOME won the ‘Excellence in Video Marketing’ Special Award at the 2021 HKMA/ViuTV & Now TV Awards for Marketing Excellence hosted by The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA). The HKMA/ViuTV & Now TV Awards for Marketing Excellence publicly honours and acknowledges individuals and organisations that have used outstanding marketing programmes to break barriers and raise standards in Hong Kong’s marketing industry.
Since its inception in March 2020, HKBALLET@HOME has gained an overwhelmingly positive reputation and is widely praised by audiences all over the globe for its original creative content and high resilience to the pandemic, marking a profound breakthrough in the performing arts industry. HKB’s Artistic Director Septime Webre, Executive Director Heidi Lee and Director of Marketing Nick Chan attended the black-tie awards ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
As the pandemic continued the past year, many live performances were cancelled or postponed, but HKB quickly adapted and launched the HKBALLET@HOME online channel, creating inspiring and educational videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. HKB continues to uphold the spirit of ‘Never Standing Still’, finding new ways to connect with ballet lovers across the globe in a digital age. To date, HKBALLET@HOME has garnered over 1.5 million views with its 90+ entertaining ballet-themed episodes that range from engaging talk shows like ‘ballet-blah-blah-blah’ and ‘Barre Classes Online’ to fun, light-hearted cooking and game shows like ‘Ballerina Chef’ and ‘Ballet 101’.
