Ballet in Lee Gardens – Peter Pan Ballet Fun Day 
 

Lee Gardens set to be transformed into a realm of fantasy with lively performances and upbeat character parade


[Hong Kong – 11 September 2019] Hong Kong Ballet proudly kicked off its milestone 40th Anniversary Season to initiate a take on classic tale Peter Pan with irresistible freshness and fizz at Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Sha Tin Town Hall last August. Celebrating the premiere of the ballet extravaganza, Hong Kong Ballet, Hysan Development and Lee Gardens Association jointly presented “Ballet in Lee Gardens – Peter Pan with a plethora of interactive and fun-filled Peter Pan themed activities including “Ballet Fun Day in Lee Gardens” and Peter Pan Ballet Exhibition – A Fearless Adventure Guide to Neverland” on 7 September. Revellers braced for a magical and exciting adventure to the wonderful world of Peter Pan at Lee Gardens area.

Close to 50 Hong Kong Ballet and children dancers invited by Hysan Development and Lee Gardens Association performed in a lively parade around Lee Gardens area. Popular characters namely Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Wendy, Captain Hook, the Crocodile, Butterflies, Lady Bugs and others joined hands to offer hundreds of people a fascinating sneak peek into the wonderful world of Peter Pan. The stunning performance amazed the audience with the ravishing beauty and grace of ballet on bustling streets.

The dancers staged the vibrant and fun-filled parade after the breathtaking performance. Embarking on the parade at Hysan Place’s 1/F Atrium, the dancers toured Pak Sha Road, Lee Theatre Plaza and Lee Garden One pavement for plenty of photogenic opportunities.

Beloved Peter Pan and Tinkerbell showcased their astounding artistry with mesmerizing dance postures and interacted with audiences. Children dancers starring the roles of Lady Bugs and Butterflies offered exciting live performance in the crowd to spread sheer joy and happiness. The high-energy parade was filled with carnival-like atmosphere as audiences waved to well-loved characters and followed them to tour around the Lee Gardens area joyfully.

The audiences were also given the chance to closely interact with Peter Pan’s dancers and take photos at different spots. It was indeed a magical and exciting journey for the audiences to revel in the thrilling adventure of Peter Pan and snap captivating photos in the frenetic parade.
