[Hong Kong – 29 Aug 2016] With nine breathtaking Swan Lake performances over two weeks with four different principal casts, Hong Kong Ballet saw nearly 11,000 people enjoying the timeless ballet masterpiece at Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 19 to 28 August 2016. Principal Dancers Yu-yao Liu and Fei-fei Ye, Guest Principal Dancer Jurgita Dronina, Coryphée Ge Gao and Corp de Ballet member Zhi-yao Chen danced the roles of Odette/Odile, partnering Principal Dancer Jia-bo Li, Wei Wei and Soloist Ryo Kato as Prince Siegfried, beguiling audiences alongside Tchaikovsky’s enchanting music.

On 27 August, Title Sponsor China Everbright Ltd. (CEL) hosted two Gala Night Cocktail Receptions, which were attended by Mr Shuang Chen, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of China Everbright Ltd. and other special guests who had the opportunity to be photographed with Hong Kong Ballet’s exceptional dancers, including Wei Wei, Jie Shen, Lucas Jerkander, Jessica Burrows, Ge Gao, Naomi Yuzawa, Jun Xia and Zhi-yao Chen.

With the support of CEL for the second consecutive year, the Company extended performances to Yuen Long Theatre, actively bringing the joy of ballet to audiences across the city. CEL also sponsored the Swan Lake Family Fun Workshop and Pre-performance Workshop, in addition to donationing to the Accessibility Fund and becoming a Sapphire Donor in order to outreach to families in the northwest New Territories area, so they could experience a Swan Lake performance. 64 people under two beneficiary organisations, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals – Tuen Mun Integrated Services Centre and Pok Oi Hospital Mrs Lee Ho Siu Fong Memorial Children and Families Development Centre (Butterfly Bay), received complimentary tickets to attend the performance at Yuen Long Theatre on 20 August.

Hong Kong Ballet’s next production, Choreographers’ Showcase 2016, will run from 23 to 25 September 2016 (Friday to Sunday) at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets are $280 and $180 and are available at URBTIX now.
