A classic favourite among audiences of all ages, The Nutcracker has been bringing adventure, fantasy, romance and the Christmas spirit to people from around the world since its creation, and HKB has staged almost 350 performances in the last three decades. From the moment the curtain rises, audiences experience the magic of the holiday season as the lights dim, the music soars and snowflakes swirl! Follow Clara and Fritz’s captivating adventure as they help the courageous Nutcracker reunite with his Ballerina love and rescue the kingdom from the sinister Rat King.
Kohler created this current version especially for the Company, reimagining this Christmas classic with a fresh visual style while maintaining the original version’s elegance and charm. With its exciting plot, dazzling sets and sparkling costumes, The Nutcracker will thrill Hong Kong audiences with Tchaikovsky’s enthralling score performed live by Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
The Nutcracker will run 19-29 December 2019 at Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Grand Theatre for 15 performances. The show time of the evening performances on 21, 22, 25, 26 and 28 December will be changed from 7:30pm to 6:30pm. Tickets are available at URBTIX now and are priced at $680, $480, $320 and $180, with VIP tickets at $1,000. Suitable for ages 3 and above.
