Shanghai Tour 2019—
The Great Gatsby

Received with Great Enthusiasm

[Hong Kong—21 November 2019] As one of the highlighted programmes in the Festival Hong Kong 2019–A Cultural Extravaganza@Shanghai during The 21st China Shanghai International Arts Festival, Hong Kong Ballet’s lavish The Great Gatsby choreographed by Septime Webre was met with enthusiastic applause and critical acclaim. Faye Butler, narrator and vocalist James Seol, and performances by Principal Guest Artist Matthew Golding and Chinese tap dancer Jiang Shaofeng, The Great Gatsby enthralled the Shanghai audiences with the glamour of New York high society in the Roaring Twenties, as well as the dancers’ formidable artistry and technical excellence.
