[Hong Kong – 2 April 2020] The Hong Kong Ballet Board of Governors announces that Ms Daisy Ho has been appointed the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding Mrs Mira Yeh, who is now Vice Chairman. Both assumed their roles effective 1 April 2020.
"I am honored to be re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Governors," said Ho. “I am deeply grateful for the support and trust of the Board. Under the leadership of Mira, Hong Kong Ballet has shown exciting growth locally and internationally. The performing arts community is facing unprecedented challenges globally in this 41st season of Hong Kong Ballet, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board, Artistic Director Septime Webre, Executive Director Heidi Lee, the Company staff and our stakeholders to make this home-grown cultural treasure and outstanding performing arts group a spiritual satisfaction to Hong Kong citizens and to deepen the functions and values of the arts in society at this difficult historical moment.”
Yeh said, “Daisy has contributed considerably to the development of Hong Kong Ballet over the years. Her love for and commitment to ballet, in addition to her business acumen, makes her the best choice to chair the Company. I firmly believe that her boundless vision and leadership will lead Hong Kong Ballet confidently into the future no matter what challenges lie ahead.”
An arts enthusiast and ballet devotee, Ms Ho has been a Hong Kong Ballet Board Governor since 2008 and served as its Chairman from 2013 to 2019. She holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Toronto and a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. She is currently Chairman of SJM Holdings Ltd., Deputy Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited, and Chairman of Po Leung Kuk.
