Featuring an outdoor National Day performance against the stunning Victoria Harbour backdrop, ‘Tutu Academy Ballet Camp by the Harbour’ and
an inspiring 45th Anniversary Exhibition

Hong Kong — 7 June 2024Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) and Harbour City are delighted to announce that Harbour City will be HKB's 45th Anniversary Campaign Partner. HKB's milestone anniversary will be celebrated with a fabulous line-up of entertaining programmes in the second half of 2024, including an engaging ‘Tutu Academy Ballet Camp by the Harbour’ for children with HKB instructors, a retrospective 45th Anniversary Exhibition and a lively outdoor Tutu Academy performance against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour’s stunning skyline on National Day (1 October).

HKB Artistic Director Septime Webre shared, ‘Hong Kong Ballet is celebrating 45 years of artistic excellence this year, and we hope you will join in the festivities with us as we bring exciting productions into the theatre and entertaining activities for all ages into the community.’ 

HKB Executive Director Heidi Lee said, ‘I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to collaborate with Harbour City, who is a neighbour to HKB, as our dancers practice and perform at Hong Kong Cultural Centre throughout the year. With its commitment to integrating art into life, Harbour City creates opportunities for the public to enjoy art up close and experience it as part of their daily lives. I'm sure that with HKB and Harbour City’s upcoming events, the joy of ballet will reach more people.’  

'Tutu Academy Ballet Camp by the Harbour’ for Children [7 - 28 September 2024]
Every Saturday in September, HKB will host 'Tutu Academy Ballet Camp by the Harbour' for children ages 4 to 11 with instructors from HKB’s education and outreach team teaching basic ballet postures and movement, group dances and performance techniques. Participants will also have an amazing opportunity to perform what they have learned live at Harbour City.

HKB Outdoor National Day Performance [1 Oct 2024]
On National Day evening, HKB will have two fabulous 20-minute shows at Harbour City. Guests will be delighted by a very special world premiere performance of Tutu Academy and lively excerpts from ALICE (in wonderland) and HKB classics. Against the magnificent backdrop of Victoria Harbour, these shows promise to be a memorable experience for everyone.

HKB 45th Anniversary Exhibition at Gallery by the Harbour [1-20 Oct 2024]
During 1-20 October 2024, the HKB 45th Anniversary Exhibition at Gallery by the Harbour will feature specially curated art pieces that highlight HKB's incredible 45-year journey – the past, present and future all celebrating ballet’s timeless beauty and grace.

Hong Kong Ballet's collaboration with Harbour City aims to promote Hong Kong as an international cultural hub, engaging the community through entertaining and meaningful dance activities, and to captivate and inspire audiences of all ages. Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) is recognised internationally as a world-class institution that represents Hong Kong's unique character. HKB maintains the newly renamed Hong Kong Academy of Ballet, a professionally-oriented ballet school, as well as a full schedule of award-winning community programmes and crossover collaborations throughout Hong Kong to ensure ballet is accessible to all. HKB has also produced engaging original videos and dance films that have collectively garnered over 10 million views online, connecting with ballet lovers worldwide.
