A specially designed programme for School Culture Day Scheme was hosted at the Grand Theatre of The Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 23rd October 2014. The purpose of the programme was to encourage students to visit the performing arts venues during school hours in the school year and to take part in cultural activities which were presented by the Leisure Cultural Services Department.
Through the Scheme, approximately 980 students from 4 primary schools, 8 secondary schools and 1 special school were exposed to many aspects of the world of ballet through a blend of story-telling and dance excerpts of Serenade and Castrati. Such exposure served to cultivate a love of the Arts and encouraged students to include the Arts in their everyday learning process. The event was very well received by students and teachers alike. The Hong Kong Ballet is proud to have taken part in the whole-person development of students under the Scheme.
