"Dancers and choreographers are very fragile. Because we have decided that we will declare our body as a work of art. And it takes a lot of courage to actually open up and show yourself 'naked'. With all the faults, with all the mistakes, with all deficiencies that we have." Kylián said. Such rawness and fragility make his art even more beautiful.
FORGOTTEN MEMORIES is the first time one can have a real close look at Kylián's life, his way of thinking and his most significant creation via this documentary film.

THE RED SHOES, a masterpiece written, directed and produced by the team of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, is a classic ballet film. The story centers on a talented young ballerina, Vicki, and her struggles between love and career. The title of the film refers to a ballet based on a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen, and the film deals with obsessive passion that dancers devote to their craft and the stage. The well-crafted screenplay and the superlative and elegant choreography and music are woven together to create a romantic and dream-like film about dance and life. Shot on location in Monte Carlo and the south of France, THE RED SHOES takes full advantage of the intoxicating scenery and brilliant and colorful set design, with the result that each dance number is considered a classic moment in film history.
