Don Quixote – Open Dress Rehearsal

As part of the Company’s commitment to community outreach, The Hong Kong Ballet invited under-privileged groups to experience the magic of Don Quixote at an open dress rehearsal on 21st August 2014 at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Around 220 participants attended from Art with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, Helping Hand, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, Hans Andersen Club and Changing Young Life Foundation.

The participants acquired a better appreciation and understanding of the story and background of the ballet by listening to a talk before the rehearsal. The appreciative audience really enjoyed the dancers’ technique, and were impressed by the gorgeous costumes and lighting effects as well as the live orchestral accompaniment by the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
