Before watching the actual Giselle performances, almost 200 people enjoyed meaningful pre-performance talks at Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 26 and 28 Oct 2018. Featuring the Company’s Artistic Director Septime Webre and Education & Community Outreach Manager Vency Kwok, the informative 20-minute sessions were conducted in Cantonese and English, respectively. 

Giselle’s restager Charla Genn, guest coach Julio Bocca and Company dancers Dong Ruixue and Shen Jie reflected on their experiences during the production and demonstrated some of their characters’ interesting mime. Audience members were excited to see up close a dancer wearing her romantic long tutu, which appears in the iconic ‘white act’. The talks were a perfect introduction to Giselle, giving guests insightful background information before the show.
