More than 40 enthusiastic audience members joined our Company artistic team for a scintillating evening at the Lady of the Camellias Music Talk on 1 November 2016 at Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s intimate Rehearsal Studio.
The discussion centered on Frédéric Chopin’s music in this production with insights provided by conductor Benjamin Pope. Additionally, choreographer Val Caniparoli, in town from San Francisco for the performances, explained how much Chopin deeply inspired him when he originally created the ballet. Assistant to the choreographer Charla Whiteley and solo pianist Colleen Lee also shared their experiences rehearsing and performing Lady of the Camellias with the versatile Company dancers.
A highlight of the event was solo pianist Crystal Lam and Hong Kong Ballet pianist Nicholas Lau performing passionate excerpts from Lady of the Camellias, giving the delighted audience a sneak peek of what was in store for them very soon.
