It was a pleasure to host more than 600 guests at Hong Kong Ballet’s first ever Open Class Onstage on 5 November 2017 inside Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Grand Theatre. Audience members included ballet school principals, teachers, students and students’ families from more than 25 ballet schools. 

The special class was led by Septime Webre, Artistic Director of Hong Kong Ballet, and featured the Company’s guest principal dancer Mr Matthew Golding, former Principal Artist of The Royal Ballet. Designed to be an intimate opportunity to learn more about each dancer, guests saw how the dancers prepared for a performance, which is one of their most important rituals.

The programme concluded with an insightful Q&A session with the Company’s artistic team. This was truly a marvelous opportunity for the participants to meet our wonderful troupe and got them even more excited for the matinee performance of Le Corsaire!
