Turandot – Open Dress Rehearsal

An open dress rehearsal of Turandot was held on 21st January 2015 at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Almost 130 participants including students from Po Leung Kuk schools, members of Arts with the Disabled Association and Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, youths from Hong Kong Children & Youth Services, and senior citizens from Helping Hands and Sik Sik Yuen were in attendance. They acquired a deep appreciation for, and understanding of, the story and background of the ballet by listening to a talk before the rehearsal. For our guests’ convenience, we arranged a volunteer to provide sign language translation for a group of hearing-impaired participants. The appreciative audiences really enjoyed this ballet production of power, lust and revenge, admired the dancers’ technique, and were impressed by the gorgeous costumes, sets and lighting effects.
