Come celebrate the holidays this season by seeing The Hong Kong Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, with a fresh artistic take by Australian choreographer Terence Kohler. Join the adventures of Clara, Fritz and the Nutcracker as they battle the evil Rat King and climb atop the magical Christmas Tree to meet the Ballerina Doll! With gorgeous sets and costumes, The Nutcracker is a spectacular ballet which showcases the brilliant classical ballet technique of The Hong Kong Ballet dancers together with local children from the Hong Kong community. Featuring Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky's beautiful score conducted live by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, this ballet is sure to enchant the entire family.

Antonino Sutera graduated from La Scala Theatre Ballet School, one of the leading classical ballet schools in the world, in 1999. That same year he became a member of the Corps de Ballet at Teatro alla Scala, participating in classic and contemporary productions. He participated in the “Stockholm International Gala” and in the “Gala Nureyev”. In 2004 he was promoted to First Soloist and received Awards from the Italian dance magazine “Danza&Danza” and the “Positano Prize”. Sutera has débuted in major theaters around the world including, Bolshoi Theatre, Royal Opera House, Mariinsky Theater, and Lincoln Center. In 2010, he was appointed Principal Dancer at Teatro alla Scala.

Sutera has an extensive repertoire. He has performed the role of the protagonist in Swan LakeRomeo and JulietCoppéliaDon QuixoteGiselleLa SylphideLa StradaThe FirebirdLe Jeune Homme et la Mort, Prodigal Son, RaymondaProust ou les intermittences du CoeurJewels. Other roles performed by Sutera include Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet), Blue Bird (Sleeping Beauty), Golden Idol (Bayadère), Lenskij (Onegin), Fritz (The Nutcracker), Peasants pas de deux (Giselle), Oberon, Puck (Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Lescaut (L’histoire de Manon). He has worked with leading contemporary choreographers such as Wayne MacGregor, Jiří Kylián, Angelin Preljocaj, Christopher Wheeldon, Robert North, Mauro Bigonzetti, Maurice Béjart, John Neumeier, Roland Petit, Sasha Waltz and Alexei Ratmansky.
