Bravo! Stunning Don Quixote
Performances Wow Audiences

Special Thanks to Title Sponsor China Everbright Ltd.

[Hong Kong – 1 Sep 2017] In the first production under its new Artistic Director Septime Webre, Hong Kong Ballet saw over 6,000 people enjoying five breathtaking Don Quixote performances at Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 25 to 27 August 2017. South China Morning Post raved that ‘whole cast dazzles with electrifying energy’. Principal Dancers Jin Yao, Ye Feifei and Guest Principal Dancer Iana Salenko danced the role of Kitri, partnering Principal Dancers Jia-bo Li, Shen Jie and Wei Wei as Basilio to battle against all odds to unite in true love.

On 25 August, Title Sponsor China Everbright Ltd. 20th Anniversary (CEL) hosted an Opening Night Cocktail Reception, which was attended by Mr & Mrs Chen Shuang, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of China Everbright Ltd.; Mr & Mrs Frantz Hotton, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Hong Kong & Macau; Ms Daisy Ho, Chairman of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Ballet; Ms Linda Fung, Member of Board of Governors of Hong Kong Ballet and other special guests who had the opportunity to meet and take photos with the Company’s exceptional dancers. CEL has been title-sponsoring Hong Kong Ballet for the third consecutive year after sponsoring The Nutcracker and Swan Lake in 2015 and 2016 which CEL would like to dedicate its efforts to support and promote the development of Hong Kong arts.

With CEL’s generous donation to the Accessibility Fund for the second consecutive year, families in North West New Territories were provided the opportunity for experiencing the Don Quixote performance. Two beneficiary organisations, Po Leung Kuk (Children and Youth Services) and Pok Oi Hospital Mrs Lee Ho Siu Fong Memorial Children and Families Development Centre (Butterfly Bay) received complimentary tickets for 45 people to attend the 26 August performance at Hong Kong Cultural Centre and its Pre-performance Talk.

Hong Kong Ballet’s next production, Choreographers’ Showcase 2017, will run from 15 to 17 September 2017 (Friday to Sunday) at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets are $300 and $200 and are available at URBTIX now.
